High temperatures continue across the county

Another hot day is expected. Tankerton Beach.

It's been another scorching day across the county.

Temperatures were forecasted to exceed 30C in parts of the county on Tuesday, although it was much cooler in coastal areas including Margate and Herne Bay.

Record-high May temperatures were recorded elsewhere in the south East over the weekend.

The UK Health Security Agency has issued an amber heat-health alert for the South East, which is expected to remain in place until 17:00 BST on Wednesday.

Officials warned that "significant impacts are likely across health and social care services".

High demand for water meant some South East Water customers were left without supply in Charing, Challock and Molash on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the RNLI said crews from Margate Lifeboat Station were dispatched on Sunday afternoon to assist lifeguards in the town and at Joss Bay in Broadstairs.
