Open Mic Night (for 11-17s) @ House in the Basement Youth Cafe

Got a budding singer, musician or performer at home? Or maybe a young person who just fancies hanging out with friends and enjoying some live music?

House in the Basement Youth Café in Sevenoaks is hosting a FREE Open Mic Night for 11–17 year olds!

Whether they want to grab the mic, play an instrument, show off a talent, cheer on their friends or simply come along and enjoy the atmosphere, everyone is welcome – whatever their experience or ability.

Even better, there’s no need to book and it’s completely FREE. Just turn up – and bring your friends along too!

Never heard of House in the Basement?

If you’re a parent or guardian of an 11–17 year old, you might be surprised to discover there’s a free, drop-in youth café right in the centre of Sevenoaks!

Based underneath the Stag Theatre, House in the Basement (HiTB) is a welcoming space where young people can meet up with friends, relax and get involved in activities including pool, darts, video games, board games, music and more. There’s no sign-up needed, so young people can simply drop in when the café is open.

Regular term-time opening hours are:
Tuesday: 5pm–8pm (SEN Club)
Wednesday: 4pm–8pm
Friday: 4pm–8pm
Saturday: 2pm–8pm

During the school holidays, Wednesday and Friday sessions start earlier at 2pm. Opening times can be subject to change, so it’s worth checking House in the Basement’s website/social media for the latest information.

If your young person has never been before, Open Mic Night is the perfect excuse to come along, bring some friends and discover what House in the Basement is all about.
